Who we are

JourneyCities (often searched as Journey Cities) is a small, independent travel guide. We are not a travel agency, a tour company or part of a media group, and nobody pays us to include a place or to write about it.

The site covers cities and regions around the world. Each destination has a main guide and a set of shorter guides on the practical questions: how to get there, when to go, where to stay, and what each sight is like to visit.

Why we built it

Most travel pages answer the same few questions in the same way and are rarely updated. We wanted guides that put the practical side first: which entrance to use, how long things take, which days places are closed, what the weather is like each month, and how to get from the airport to the centre.

We show no ads and use no affiliate links. If that ever changes, we will say so on this page and next to any link that earns us money.

How we research and write

We write each guide from published sources, mainly:

We use AI writing tools to help us draft and organise text. A draft is not published until the facts in it are checked against the sources above and it meets our own rules: no invented personal stories, no prices in the guides (they change too often to be reliable), and clear British English.

We do not pretend to have visited every place we cover. Where a guide includes first-hand notes or our own photos, it says so. Readers who have been there can add their own advice in the traveller tips at the end of each guide.

How we keep guides up to date

Entry rules, timetables and closures change. When we learn that something has changed, we update the guide. If you find something out of date, telling us is the fastest way to get it fixed (see below).

Photos

Most photos come from free photo libraries such as Pexels and Unsplash, chosen to show the actual place described. Where a photographer is credited under an image, the photo is theirs. We do not use photos from social media without the owner's permission.
