Overview

Rocket Arena, the home of the Cleveland Cavaliers, sits in the Gateway District at the southern edge of downtown, next to the Guardians' baseball stadium. A covered walkway links it to Tower City, the city's rail hub, and the Red Line train runs from there to the airport. For a big American city, that makes Cleveland unusually easy to visit for a concert without a car.

Journey play here on Thursday 12 November 2026 on their Final Frontier farewell tour. Our Journey tour cities guide covers the other stops.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

For a rock fan, the next day plans itself. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame stands on the shore of Lake Erie, a walk north from downtown, in a glass pyramid designed by I. M. Pei. Journey were inducted in 2017, and the museum's collection of guitars, stage costumes, handwritten lyrics and recordings covers every era of the music. Give it a morning; most people stay longer than they planned. The museum has been building a large new wing, so check what is open when you visit.

More of Cleveland

The Cleveland Museum of Art in University Circle is one of the best art museums in the country, with free general admission; the HealthLine bus runs out along Euclid Avenue. The West Side Market in Ohio City, a grand old market hall full of butchers, bakers and food stalls, is a short ride across the river and good for lunch. East 4th Street, near the arena, is a lively pedestrian street of restaurants for dinner before the show.

Downtown is compact, and on a show night the area between the arena, Tower City and East 4th Street is full of people.

Before the show

A good show day might start at the Rock Hall in the morning, continue with lunch at the West Side Market, and finish with an early dinner on East 4th Street. Between them, walk along the lakefront by the museum or through Public Square, the city's renovated central square, close to Tower City. The Playhouse Square theatre district, a few blocks east, has a giant outdoor chandelier hanging over the street, which is worth a look on the way to dinner.

November is quiet in Cleveland, with fewer visitors at the museums and better hotel availability than in summer.

Tickets & Getting There

Tickets

Buy from the arena's official ticket seller or through the band's official site. Be suspicious of cheap tickets from strangers online.

Getting there

From Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, the RTA Red Line runs directly to Tower City, linked to the arena by an indoor walkway. Check the last train if you are staying near the airport. Drivers will find garages around the Gateway District; pre-booking a space helps on a busy night.

Where to stay

  • Downtown: walk to the arena, East 4th Street and the lakefront.
  • Ohio City or Tremont: smaller hotels and good restaurants, a short ride from downtown.
  • University Circle: near the art museum, quieter in the evening.

Accessibility and VIP

Accessible seating is sold through the official seller; the arena's guest services can help with entrances and lifts. VIP packages should be bought only through the band's official site.

Parking

Garages around the Gateway District and Tower City are close to the arena. On a show night they fill early; pre-book where possible, or use the train and avoid the exit queues.

Tips

  • Read the bag policy on the arena's website.
  • Book Rock Hall tickets online and go early in the day for the quietest galleries.
  • Dress for the lake. Mid-November wind off Lake Erie is cold, and snow is possible.
  • Use the indoor walkway from Tower City in bad weather; it saves a cold walk.
  • Eat early on East 4th Street on show nights, or book a table.
  • Look up at Playhouse Square after dark, when the outdoor chandelier is lit.
  • Give yourself time at the Rock Hall; most visitors need half a day.
  • Check the Rock Hall's opening days before you plan around them; it may close on some days in the quieter season.
  • Walk to the lakefront after the museum for the view of the city and the lake.
  • Try a Polish Boy, a Cleveland sandwich of sausage, chips and barbecue sauce, at least once.
