JAY-Z at SoFi Stadium for Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show

The NFL and Apple Music officially announced during Monday Night Football that JAY-Z will headline the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on Sunday, February 14th, 2027. The performance takes place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, marking the rapper's first time performing on the Super Bowl stage. His entertainment company, Roc Nation, has produced the halftime event since partnering with the NFL in 2019, booking previous performers such as Bad Bunny, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and Usher.

JAY-Z comes to Inglewood following his JAY-Z30 Concert Series, which celebrated the 30th anniversary of his debut album Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint with major stadium dates across Yankee Stadium, Stade de France, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and SoFi Stadium itself. That tour featured guest appearances from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, John Legend, DJ Khaled, Too Short, and Blue Ivy Carter. Travellers heading to Los Angeles for this single February show will witness a milestone set from an artist with 25 Grammy Awards and 14 number-one albums.

Combining the Game with a City Break

A trip to Inglewood for Super Bowl Sunday fits neatly into a broader winter break across Southern California. You can structure a Los Angeles 3-day itinerary around the event, spending days exploring coastal spots or central attractions before heading to SoFi Stadium. SoFi Stadium previously hosted Super Bowl LVI, where Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg performed, making this the second time the Inglewood venue hosts the halftime show. While the game will air on ESPN, ABC, ESPN Deportes, and Disney+, attending in person offers the full live event experience alongside major entertainment and sports fans.

Securing entry for Super Bowl LXI requires advance planning. Always check the official ticketing page and trusted primary partners for game and halftime show access, avoiding unverified secondary sellers. Because game tickets encompass access to SoFi Stadium for the whole event on Sunday, February 14th, 2027, you should secure entry and accommodation together as early as possible. Consult our Los Angeles Travel Guide to align your ticket details with local transport schedules.

Choosing where to stay in Los Angeles depends on how you want to spend the rest of your trip. Downtown serves as the main transit hub for the area, making it convenient for public transport options. Santa Monica offers a walkable beach district connected to the Metro rail network, whereas West Hollywood provides a central location between major sights and nightlife options.

If you fly into LAX, which sits in the south-west near the coast, you can take the FlyAway bus to Union Station, use rideshare services from the dedicated LAX-it lot, or catch the free shuttle to the Metro rail network. Review our How to Get to Los Angeles guide for details on alternative arrivals at Burbank or Long Beach airports.

• Plan around regional traffic: Group your daily activities by geographical area, as traffic across Southern California determines travel duration. Use Metro rail where possible between Downtown, Hollywood, and Santa Monica, or consult our things to do guide for efficient sightseeing groupings.
• Organise airport transfers early: When arriving at LAX, head to the LAX-it lot for taxi and rideshare pick-ups, or use the free airport shuttle connecting directly to the Metro line.
• Select your base carefully: Stay in Santa Monica if you want beach access and rail transit, or select Downtown for direct public transport links across the wider urban rail system.
• Book cultural entry in advance: If you plan to visit cultural venues like the Getty or studio tours during your Super Bowl trip, secure free timed tickets or advance reservations before arrival.
