Overview

CFG Bank Arena, Baltimore's renovated downtown arena, sits on the west side of the city centre, a few blocks north-west of the Inner Harbor. It reopened in 2023 after a major rebuild and now hosts most of the big arena tours that stop in Maryland. It is also close enough to Washington DC that many visitors treat it as a night out from the capital.

Journey bring their Final Frontier farewell tour here on Saturday 24 October 2026. Our Journey tour cities guide lists the other stops.

A day around the harbour

The Inner Harbor is Baltimore's front room: a waterfront promenade with the National Aquarium, historic ships you can board, and the Maryland Science Center. A water taxi links it with Fells Point, the old waterfront neighbourhood of cobbled streets, pubs and seafood restaurants, which is where we would go for dinner. Fort McHenry, where the defence of the city in 1814 inspired the words of the national anthem, is a short ride away and a good morning out.

Maryland means crab: steamed blue crabs dusted with Old Bay seasoning in season, and crab cakes all year. Late October is near the end of the main crab season, so ask what is fresh.

Around the arena at night

The streets right around the arena are busy on show nights and quiet otherwise, and some blocks to the west feel empty after dark. Walk back towards the harbour with the crowd, or take a rideshare from a pickup point near the main entrance, rather than wandering off on your own.

More of Baltimore

Baltimore has a strong museum scene for its size. The American Visionary Art Museum, on the south side of the harbour, shows the work of self-taught artists and is unlike anything else on the East Coast. The Walters Art Museum in Mount Vernon has a huge historic collection, and the Baltimore Museum of Art is near Johns Hopkins University. Federal Hill Park, on a hill above the south side of the harbour, gives the classic view of the skyline across the water and is a short walk from the Inner Harbor.

A Saturday show also means the harbour promenade and Fells Point are at their busiest, with plenty of bars open late after the encore.

Tickets & Getting There

Tickets

Buy from the arena's official ticket seller or through the band's official website. A Saturday show will be popular; avoid unofficial resale offers on social media.

Getting there

From Washington DC, MARC commuter trains on the Penn Line and Amtrak trains run from Union Station to Baltimore Penn Station; from there a short taxi, bus or light rail ride brings you downtown. Check the last train back before you plan a same-night return, because a late encore and a missed train is a bad combination. Baltimore/Washington International airport is linked to the city by light rail and by train.

Where to stay

  • Inner Harbor: big hotels, a walk to the arena and the waterfront.
  • Harbor East or Fells Point: more character and better restaurants, a short ride from the show.
  • Mount Vernon: handsome historic streets north of downtown, close to Penn Station.

Accessibility and VIP

Accessible seating is sold through the official seller; the arena's guest services can help with entrances and drop-off points. VIP packages should be bought only through the band's official site.

If you drive, garages around the arena and the Inner Harbor are close; pre-book where possible on a busy Saturday.

Tips

  • Read the arena's bag policy before you go; small or clear bags only is the usual rule.
  • Stay the night if you can rather than rushing back to DC; the harbour is at its best in the morning.
  • Book a water taxi day pass if you plan several stops around the harbour.
  • Bring a warm layer for the harbour wind in late October.
  • Keep to busy, lit streets after the show, as in any big city.
  • Climb Federal Hill for the best view of the harbour, especially at dusk.
  • Try a crab cake at a market or a seafood restaurant in Fells Point rather than a chain by the harbour.
  • Use the water taxi between the Inner Harbor and Fells Point; it is a pleasant way to cross the harbour before dinner.
  • Check train times both ways if you are coming from Washington DC; weekend timetables differ from weekdays.
