A Concert at KFC Yum! Center, Louisville
Louisville's arena sits on Main Street by the Ohio River, a walk from Whiskey Row's bourbon distilleries and the city's best museums.
Overview
The KFC Yum! Center sits on Main Street on the edge of downtown Louisville, with the Ohio River and Waterfront Park just behind it. It is a compact downtown, and most of what visitors come for is on the same street: Whiskey Row, a line of old brick and cast-iron warehouses where bourbon was once traded and where several distilleries now run visitor experiences; the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, with a giant baseball bat leaning against its front; and the Muhammad Ali Center, about the boxer who grew up in this city.
Journey play here on Thursday 22 October 2026 on their Final Frontier farewell tour, the night after Nashville. Our Journey tour cities guide covers the rest of the tour.
Bourbon before or after
Kentucky makes most of the world's bourbon, and Louisville is the urban starting point of the Bourbon Trail. The distillery experiences on Main Street offer tours and tastings within a walk of the arena, so you do not need a car or a tour bus to taste the local spirit. Book ahead, as tours have limited places, and pace yourself on a show day. If you have a car and a sober driver, the bigger distilleries in the countryside south of the city make a full day out.
Beyond Main Street
Walk across the Big Four Bridge, an old railway bridge over the Ohio turned into a footpath, to Indiana and back for the view of the city. Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, is a short drive south, with a museum about the race. For dinner, NuLu, the East Market district just east of downtown, has the most interesting restaurants. Try a Hot Brown, the local open turkey sandwich baked with cheese sauce, at least once.
Two shows, two cities
Because Journey play Nashville the night before, some fans see both shows. The drive north on the motorway takes about three hours, which leaves time for lunch on the way and a walk along Main Street before the doors open. If you do this, stay in Louisville that night rather than driving again after the second show. Our Nashville concert guide covers the first night.
Late October is also a pleasant time on the riverfront, with the trees in Waterfront Park turning and mild days that suit a walk across the river.
Tickets & Getting There
Tickets
Buy through the arena's official ticket seller or the link on the band's official website, not from private sellers online. Have mobile tickets ready on your phone before you get to the door.
Getting there
Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport is a short drive south of downtown; a rideshare or taxi is the simplest option. Louisville is also within driving distance of Nashville, Cincinnati and Indianapolis, so some fans combine shows. Downtown is walkable, and if your hotel is central you will not need a car on show night.
Where to stay
- Downtown, near Main Street: walk to the arena, Whiskey Row and the riverfront.
- NuLu: boutique hotels and good restaurants, a short walk or ride east.
Accessibility and VIP
Accessible seating is sold through the official seller; the arena's guest services can advise on entrances. Buy VIP packages only through the band's official site.
Parking
Downtown garages and car parks are within walking distance of the arena. Arrive early, as Main Street gets busy before a show, and expect a slow exit afterwards. Staying downtown and walking avoids the problem entirely.
Tips
- Check the bag policy on the arena's website before you set off.
- Book distillery tours ahead. Popular slots fill up, especially at weekends, and some have age rules for under-21s.
- Eat a proper meal before the show if you have been tasting bourbon in the afternoon.
- Walk along the river after the show on a mild night; Waterfront Park is right behind the arena, though stay on the lit paths.
- Pack a warm layer. Late October evenings by the river can be chilly.
- Bring ID for bourbon tastings; everyone is checked, whatever their age.
- Cross the Big Four Bridge at sunset the day before the show if you can; it is lit up at night.
- Leave the car at the hotel if you plan to taste bourbon; downtown is easy on foot.
- Visit the Slugger factory early; the tours show bats being made and fill up later in the day.
