3 Days in Eskişehir: Odunpazarı, OMM, Porsuk Gondolas, Sazova and Phrygian Valley
Three fun, walkable days covering Odunpazarı's museums, Porsuk gondolas, Sazova Park and the Phrygian Valley.
This three-day itinerary is designed so that Days 1 and 2 require zero car rental (using only your feet, the Estram tram and a short bus/taxi hop to Sazova), while Day 3 takes you south into the volcanic rock canyons of the Phrygian Valley and UNESCO-listed Sivrihisar. (Remember: if your trip spans a Monday, put Day 3's outdoor Phrygian Valley trip on Monday so you visit Odunpazarı's indoor museums when they are open Tuesday to Sunday).
Day 1: Historic Odunpazarı, OMM, Kurşunlu Complex & Porsuk River Gondolas
- Morning: start in Historic Odunpazarı; wander the pastel timber mansions of Beyler Sokak, step inside Yeşil Efendi Konağı, and watch master carvers shaping white sea-foam stone in Atlıhan Craft Bazaar.
- Midday: spend 90 minutes inside Kengo Kuma's stacked-pine Odunpazarı Modern Museum (OMM), followed by the Yılmaz Büyükerşen Wax Museum and Contemporary Glass Arts Museum next door.
- Midday: lunch on piping-hot Crimean Tatar çibörek and frothy ayran in the garden courtyard behind the Kurşunlu Complex (or at Papağan).

- Afternoon: ride the Estram tram down to Çarşı stop to board a Venetian Gondola or motorboat on the Porsuk River at Adalar, drink a glass of cinnamon boza at 1956 Karakedi Bozacısı, and dine on butter-sizzling balaban kebabı before an evening coffee at Haller Youth Centre.
Day 2: 1961 Devrim Car, ETİ Archaeology Museum, Sazova Park & Kentpark
- Morning: walk five minutes from the YHT Station to the free TÜRASAŞ Devrim Museum to see Turkey's first 1961 domestic automobile, then ride the tram to the ETİ Archaeology Museum.
- Midday: head west to 40-hectare Sazova Science, Art and Culture Park to explore the 8-tower Fairytale Castle, the Santa María pirate ship, Esminyatürk and the Japanese Garden.
- Evening: visit Kentpark or soak in a 45°C natural thermal bath in Hamamyolu/Bademlik.
Day 3: The Phrygian Valley (Yazılıkaya Midas Monument) & UNESCO Sivrihisar Mosque
- Morning: drive 70 minutes south via the 1208 Seyit Battal Gazi Complex into the volcanic canyons of the Phrygian Valley to stand before the 17-metre Midas Monument at Yazılıkaya, Gerdekkaya Rock Tomb and Han Underground City, looping east if time permits to the 67 wooden columns of UNESCO-listed 1274 Sivrihisar Ulu Cami.
