Overview

Xfinity Mobile Arena, the arena once known as the Wells Fargo Center, stands in the South Philadelphia sports complex, a cluster of stadiums and car parks at the southern end of Broad Street. It is not a neighbourhood you would wander for its own sake, but it is simple to reach: the Broad Street Line subway runs straight down from Center City and stops beside it.

Journey play here on Wednesday 28 October 2026 on their Final Frontier farewell tour. See our Journey tour cities guide for every stop.

A day of history

Philadelphia is where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed, and the room where it happened is still there. Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell are a block apart in Old City, run by the National Park Service; check the park's website for how tickets to Independence Hall work on the day you visit, as timed entry applies for much of the year. Elfreth's Alley, one of the oldest continuously lived-in streets in the country, is a short walk away.

Reading Terminal Market, a huge indoor food market in Center City, is the place for lunch: roast pork sandwiches, Pennsylvania Dutch bakeries and, of course, a cheesesteak, which every local will tell you is better somewhere else. In the afternoon, climb the steps of the art museum made famous by the Rocky films, and look back down the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to City Hall.

New York and Washington nearby

Philadelphia sits on the Amtrak corridor between New York and Washington, so this show fits easily into a wider East Coast trip. Our New York getting there guide covers the main stations and airports at that end.

Murals and markets

Philadelphia has more public murals than almost any city in the world, thanks to a long-running city arts programme, and guided walking and trolley tours show the best of them. South Philadelphia, between Center City and the arena, is home to the Italian Market on 9th Street, an open-air run of food shops and stalls, and to the rival cheesesteak stands at the corner of Passyunk Avenue. A walk there in the afternoon works well before taking the subway on to the show.

Late October is a good time for walking the old streets, with mild days and autumn colour in the squares laid out in William Penn's original plan for the city.

Tickets & Getting There

Tickets

Buy through the arena's official ticket seller or the band's official website. Avoid resale offers that ask for payment by bank transfer or gift card.

Getting there

Take the Broad Street Line south from City Hall or any Center City station to the last stop, which is beside the arena; it is quicker than driving, and the trains are busy and well used on event nights. Philadelphia International Airport is linked to Center City by a regional rail line, and Amtrak trains stop at 30th Street Station. If you drive, the complex has large car parks, but leaving after a show takes time.

Where to stay

  • Center City: the most convenient base, on the subway line.
  • Old City: next to Independence Hall, with historic streets and good restaurants.
  • Rittenhouse Square: the smartest part of town, a short walk to the subway.

Accessibility and VIP

Accessible seats are sold through the official seller; the arena's guest services can help with lifts and entrances. Buy VIP packages only through the band's official site.

Tips

  • Check the bag policy on the arena's website; large bags are not usually allowed.
  • Ride the subway back with the crowd after the show rather than waiting for a rideshare in the car parks.
  • Visit Independence Hall in the morning, before the school groups arrive.
  • Order your cheesesteak the local way: name the cheese, then "with" or "without" onions, and keep the queue moving.
  • Bring a jacket. Late October nights are cool, and the walk from the station is exposed.
  • Tap a contactless card at the subway gates; it is simpler than buying a separate card.
  • Book Independence Hall in advance if timed tickets apply on your date; same-day slots can run out.
  • Allow time for the subway after the show; trains are frequent but the platforms are crowded.
  • Stay in Center City rather than near the sports complex, where there is little to do after dark.
