Overview

Rock The Ocean's Tortuga Music Festival returns to the Atlantic shoreline of Fort Lauderdale Beach Park from 2 to 4 April 2027, bringing three days of country, rock, and pop performances directly onto the sand. Set along the sunny barrier island roughly forty kilometres north of Miami, the annual spring gathering combines stadium-scale beachfront stages with marine conservation awareness through its hands-on Conservation Village and ocean research partnerships.

2027 Headliners: Florida Georgia Line, Eric Church, and Megan Moroney

The 2027 bill anchors each evening with a major country headliner on the main beach stage while counter-programming R&B, pop-rock, and emerging Nashville songwriters across the Sunset Stage and the Next From Nashville tent, giving festivalgoers more than thirty live sets across the three days.

  • Friday, 2 April 2027: Reunited country duo Florida Georgia Line headlines the opening Friday night on the sand, with an afternoon roster of rising country acts across the grounds.
  • Saturday, 3 April 2027: Country-rock mainstay Eric Church commands the Saturday night main stage.
  • Sunday, 4 April 2027: Breakout Georgia star Megan Moroney closes out the festival on Sunday evening. Goo Goo Dolls, Train, and NE-YO headline the Sunset Stage across the weekend, with Stephen Wilson Jr. and Tucker Wetmore among the main-stage country acts. The Sunset Stage leans into rock, pop, and R&B, which makes it an easy place to regroup between the country sets on the main beach stage.

Beachfront Layout and Conservation Village

Unlike inland fairground festivals, Tortuga takes place entirely on soft oceanfront sand between Seabreeze Boulevard and the Atlantic surf, allowing fans to watch afternoon sets with the ocean breeze at their backs and even wade into the shoreline zone between performances. Between sets, pass holders can walk through the Rock The Ocean Conservation Village, where marine research universities, sea turtle protection groups, shark conservation teams, and coral reef restoration charities host interactive exhibits alongside a portion of every pass supporting ocean research. Many travellers turn the first weekend of April into a broader South Florida coastal trip by pairing the festival with our three-day Miami itinerary down the coast or exploring Las Olas Boulevard and the Intracoastal canals in Fort Lauderdale.

Tickets & Getting There

Tortuga Music Festival operates exclusively on Three-Day Weekend Passes across General Admission, VIP, and Super VIP tiers, with official hotel and shuttle bundles released through the festival box office. VIP and Super VIP passes add shaded oceanfront viewing decks, dedicated main-stage viewing areas, and air-conditioned lounges along Seabreeze Boulevard. Because single-day tickets are rarely offered until capacity permits, check the official Tortuga Music Festival website early to register for weekend wristbands and payment plans.

Reaching Fort Lauderdale Beach from Miami and FLL

Barrier-island road closures around Seabreeze Boulevard and Highway A1A make private car parking near the sand virtually impossible during the festival weekend, so water and rail links are far smoother.

  • By Air and Brightline Rail: Visitors can fly directly into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) just south of the beach or land at Miami International Airport and use the transit routes in our South Florida airport and Brightline rail overview to reach Downtown Fort Lauderdale in under half an hour.
  • Water Taxi and Festival Shuttles: From Downtown Fort Lauderdale and Las Olas Boulevard, the official festival water taxi drops passengers along the Intracoastal Waterway beside Bahia Mar right at the festival gates, avoiding bridge congestion across the Las Olas and 17th Street causeways.

Tips

  • Dress for Full Atlantic Sun and Sand: Standing on reflective white sand for several hours requires breathable linen or UV-protective clothing, polarised sunglasses, and reef-safe sunscreen; check our South Florida coastal packing tips before you fly.
  • Choose Footwear for Soft Sand: Flip-flops easily snap in dense festival crowds, while heavy boots trap sand and heat; secure sports sandals, water shoes, or lightweight canvas trainers work best across the beach park.
  • Use Clear Bags and Waterproof Pouches: Tortuga enforces a strict clear-bag policy at security gates, and a sealed waterproof phone lanyard protects your device from salt spray and sudden ocean breezes.
  • Book Water Taxi Passes Early: The Intracoastal water taxi is the most scenic and reliable way off the barrier island after the Sunday night finale, so secure your return boat wristband well before the April festival weekend begins in Fort Lauderdale.
