Where to Stay in Adana: Riverfront (Taşköprü/Merkez Park), Ziyapaşa and Tepebağ
Choosing between river-view five-star hotels facing Sabancı Mosque or the leafy café boulevards of Ziyapaşa.
Adana offers excellent hotel value compared to coastal resort towns: five-star international riverside properties with palm-fringed swimming pools and views of the Sabancı Mosque often cost the same as a three-star hotel in Europe. Almost all visitors choose between three well-connected zones within 1.5 kilometres of each other.
1. The Seyhan Riverfront (Around Taşköprü & Merkez Park, Best for Views, Families & 5-Star Comfort)
Lining both the western (Seyhan) and eastern (Yüreğir) banks of the river right between Roman Taşköprü, Sabancı Central Mosque and Merkez Park. This is the most scenic place to wake up in Adana: properties such as the Adana Hilton SA (sitting right on the eastern riverbank directly opposite the 385 AD arches of Taşköprü, so you walk out of the hotel garden straight across the Roman bridge into the Old Town), the Sheraton Grand Adana (facing Merkez Park), and the Sürmeli / Riva Reşatbey hotels on the western bank offer outdoor resort pools, spas, spacious parking and immediate access to evening river walks.
2. Ziyapaşa Bulvarı, Gazipaşa & Atatürk Caddesi (Best for Evening Life, Cafés & Walkability)
Stretching one kilometre north-west of Merkez Park between Atatürk Parkı and the historic 1912 Train Station (Adana Garı). Shaded by a continuous canopy of towering ficus, plane and sour-orange trees, Ziyapaşa Bulvarı and Gazipaşa Bulvarı are the modern social heart of Adana, lined with third-wave coffee roasters, boutique hotels, wine bistros, patisseries and some of the city's best-known kebab restaurants (including Yüzevler), while keeping you a flat 15-minute walk from the New Archaeology Museum and Sabancı Mosque.
3. Historic Kuruköprü, Tepebağ & İnönü Parkı (Best for Heritage Mansions & Budget Value)
Right between the New Archaeology Museum along the D400 boulevard and the historic Ulu Cami / Kazancılar Bazaar. Here you will find restored 19th-century stone boutique guesthouses in Tepebağ alongside reliable, well-priced four-star city hotels (such as Divan Adana, DoubleTree by Hilton and Ramada) within a ten-minute walk of every historic monument.
