Busan 3-Day Itinerary: West Port Villages, East Beaches and Temples
A geographically grouped three-day route covering West Busan markets, East Busan beaches and temples.
Because Busan's west port and eastern beaches sit nearly an hour apart by subway, this three-day itinerary groups every day by coastal zone so you never cross the city twice in the same afternoon. Before you travel, book your Mipo-to-Cheongsapo Sky Capsule slot online; see our practical briefing.
Day 1: West Busan (Gamcheon Culture Village, Jagalchi Market, BIFF Square & Yeongdo)
- Morning: take Metro Line 1 to Toseong Station and ride the green neighbourhood maeul minibus up to the top gate of Gamcheon Culture Village; follow the stamp-map trail downhill past pastel hillside rooftops, murals and the Little Prince viewpoint.
- Midday: ride the minibus down to Jagalchi Fish Market in Nampo-dong to inspect the ground-floor live tanks and enjoy a fresh seafood and grilled fish lunch in the second-floor dining hall, checking the free 7th-floor harbour roof deck afterwards.
- Afternoon: walk across the road onto BIFF Square for a hot seed-stuffed ssiat hotteok pancake, wander the vintage lanes of Gukje Market and Bupyeong Kkangtong Market, and ride the escalators up to Yongdusan Park.
- Late afternoon and evening: cross Yeongdodaegyo Bridge onto Yeongdo Island to walk the sea-cliff path of Huinnyeoul Culture Village at sunset before returning to Nampo-dong or Seomyeon for pork dwaeji gukbap or spicy nakgopsae.
Day 2: East Busan (Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Haeundae Beach & Blueline Park Sky Capsule)
- Morning: head out to the north-eastern coast of Gijang early to visit cliffside Haedong Yonggungsa Temple; descend the 108 stone steps through the bamboo grove to see the gilded pagoda and temple halls perched above the crashing East Sea surf.
- Midday: travel ten minutes south via Songjeong to Haeundae Beach for a bowl of chilled milmyeon wheat noodles and fish cakes at Haeundae Traditional Market, then stroll the camellia boardwalk around Dongbaekseom Island and Nurimaru APEC House.
- Late afternoon: board your pre-booked Haeundae Blueline Park Sky Capsule at Mipo Station for the elevated glide above the cliffs to Cheongsapo; walk out onto the glass-floored Cheongsapo Daritdol Skywalk and photograph the twin lighthouses.
- Evening: dine on charcoal-grilled scallops at Cheongsapo or ascend the 100th-floor BUSAN X the SKY observatory beside Haeundae Beach.
Day 3: Oryukdo & Igidae Coastal Walk, Beomeosa Temple & Gwangalli Bridge Night View
- Morning: choose between a peaceful morning up on Geumjeongsan mountain at 7th-century Beomeosa Temple (Line 1 to Beomeosa, then Bus 90) or walking the cliffside boardwalks from the glass Oryukdo Skywalk along the Igidae Coastal Trail.
- Afternoon: soak in the eighteen natural hot-spring baths and themed saunas of Spa Land inside Shinsegae Centum City (Line 2, Centum City Station).
- Evening: finish on the sand at Gwangalli Beach as the two-level Gwangan Bridge illuminates across the bay before your evening KTX train back to Seoul.
