Ibiza 5-Day Itinerary
Five days grouped by area, with a day on Formentera.
This plan gives each part of the island its own day so you are not driving back and forth. It assumes a base in Ibiza Town and a hire car from day 4; the first three days work on foot, by bus and by boat. Swap days around to catch a market, and see our nightlife guide before choosing which evening goes to a club.
Day 1: Ibiza Town and Dalt Vila
- Morning: Enter the old town through the Portal de ses Taules and climb to the cathedral and the bastion walls before the heat, following our Dalt Vila walk.
- Afternoon: Puig des Molins, the Punic burial hill a short walk west (check the official site for opening times), then a siesta.
- Evening: Drinks in La Marina and dinner in the old town, when the lanes cool down.
Day 2: Ses Salines and the south
- Morning: Bus or taxi to the salt pans of Ses Salines, where flamingos sometimes feed in the shallow pools.
- Afternoon: Swim at Ses Salines beach, or walk over the dunes to Es Cavallet for more space.
- Evening: Your club night, at Playa d'en Bossa or DC-10, both close by. Or a quiet dinner and an early night before the boat.
Day 3: Formentera
- Morning: An early fast ferry from Ibiza port to La Savina (around half an hour), then hire a bike, scooter or car at the port.
- Afternoon: Ses Illetes, the narrow sand spit with shallow turquoise water, then the village of Sant Francesc Xavier.
- Evening: Check your return sailing before you set off; last ferries change with the season.
Day 4: The west coast and Es Vedrà
- Morning: Pick up the car and drive to Cala d'Hort, facing the rock island of Es Vedrà. Arrive early, as parking at the western coves fills fast in summer.
- Afternoon: Lunch in Sant Josep village, then a swim at Cala Comte.
- Evening: Sunset at Cala Comte or along Sant Antoni bay, skipping the West End crowds.
Day 5: The north and east
- Morning: Santa Eulària's promenade, or a market: Punta Arabí near Es Canar on Wednesdays, Las Dalias at Sant Carles on Saturdays.
- Afternoon: Drive north through Sant Joan to the coves around Portinatx or Sant Miquel.
- Evening: Dinner in a village before the drive back; the north is calm, so plan your evening there. Our where to stay guide explains when moving north makes more sense.
