3 Days in Mykonos: Chora, Little Venice, Delos Island, Beach Hopping and Ano Mera

This three-day itinerary gives you the best of every side of Mykonos: Day 1 explores the car-free architectural gems and museums of Mykonos Town with a beach afternoon at Ornos/Kapari; Day 2 pairs a morning boat to UNESCO-listed Delos with a wooden water-taxi hop along the southern bays; and Day 3 heads inland to Ano Mera and the wild northern coves before sunset at Armenistis Lighthouse. Day 1: Chora Labyrinth, Paraportiani Church, Afternoon Beach & Little Venice Sunset

• Morning: beat the cruise groups into the silent, freshly washed flagstone alleys of Mykonos Town; pick up a warm handmade onion pie (kremmydopita) at 17th-century Gioras Wood Bakery, stroll under the bougainvillea of Matogianni Street, and photograph the sculpted whitewashed domes of Panagia Paraportiani in Kastro.
• Morning: visit the Aegean Maritime Museum in Tria Pigadia, pausing for iced coffee in the palm-shaded botanical garden of Cine Manto.
• Midday: hop a 10-minute bus from Fabrika south to swim in the calm turquoise bay of Ornos or Agios Ioannis.
• Evening: return to Chora to walk out onto the promontory of the 16th-century Kato Mili Windmills and Little Venice for sunset over the breaking waves.

Day 2: Morning Boat to UNESCO Delos Island & Southern Beach Hop

• Morning: board the first morning boat from Mykonos Old Port for the 25-minute crossing to UNESCO-listed Delos Island (or book a combined Delos + Rhenia Island sailing cruise).
• Midday: take the bus to Platys Gialos and ride the traditional wooden water-taxi boat along the southern beaches, swimming in quiet Agrari or Elia and stopping for late-afternoon sunset views on the headland of Paraga.

Day 3: Ano Mera Monastery, Wild Agios Sostis & Armenistis Lighthouse

• Morning: head inland to Ano Mera Village to tour the 1542 Monastery of Panagia Tourliani (and optional wine/cheese tasting at Mykonos Vioma Organic Vineyard).
• Midday: spend the middle of the day swimming on the unspoiled, umbrella-free golden sand of Agios Sostis Beach (putting your name down around midday for an open-fire charcoal lunch overlooking the cove at legendary Kiki's Tavern, or dining at remote Fokos Beach).
• Evening: drive up to the north-western cliffs of the 1891 Armenistis Lighthouse (or climb to Boni's Windmill above Chora) to watch your final Aegean sunset over Tinos and Syros.
