Getting to Bodrum: Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) Havaş, Muttaş and Taxis
Taking the 40-minute Havaş or Muttaş coach from Milas-Bodrum Airport and using the new Torba Bus Terminal.
Milas-Bodrum Airport (BJV) lies 36 kilometres north-east of Bodrum Town along the main D330 highway, passing the flamingo-filled wetlands of Lake Tuzla (Boğaziçi) and the turquoise bays of Güvercinlik. Because there is no railway line on the Bodrum Peninsula, all transfers happen by road and take 35 to 45 minutes to Bodrum Town (or 45 to 60 minutes to Yalıkavak, Turgutreis and Gümüşlük).
1. Havaş and Muttaş Airport Shuttle Coaches (Cheapest & Timed to Every Flight)
Directly outside the arrivals exit of both the Domestic Terminal and International Terminal wait the white coaches of Havaş and the municipal coaches of Muttaş (Muğla Büyükşehir Belediyesi). You do not need to book in advance; coaches depart 15 to 25 minutes after every domestic flight lands (and continuously throughout the day in summer), and you pay by tapping a contactless bank card on board:
- Important Note on Bodrum's Two Bus Stations (Yeni Otogar at Torba vs Eski Otogar in Town): a few years ago, Bodrum opened a modern new intercity bus terminal (**Yeni Bodrum Otogarı**) at the Torba junction, 6 kilometres up the hill before you drop down into Bodrum Town. Check with the driver when boarding at the airport: many Havaş/Muttaş services stop at the Torba junction *and* continue down into the historic Old Bus Station (Eski Otogar / Cevat Şakir Caddesi) right in the middle of Bodrum Town (a 7-minute walk from the Castle and Bazaar). If your coach terminates at the new Torba Otogar, free or regular municipal shuttle minibuses wait right across the platform to carry you down into downtown Bodrum, Bitez, Yalıkavak or Turgutreis in 10 to 25 minutes.
2. Official Airport Taxis and Pre-Booked Private Transfers
Yellow/turquoise metered airport taxis wait 24/7 outside both terminals with a posted zone-rate board showing approximate fares to Bodrum Town, Torba, Göltürkbükü, Yalıkavak, Bitez and Gümüşlük. If you are travelling as a family or group of 3 to 4 people staying on the outer peninsula (in Yalıkavak, Türkbükü or Gümüşlük), booking a door-to-door private VIP Vito minivan transfer in advance (or taking a taxi straight from the airport via the northern Güvercinlik, Torba bypass road) saves changing buses at the terminal.
