How to Get to Foz do Iguaçu: IGU and IGR Airports, Borders and Buses
Practical transport guide to Foz do Iguaçu covering flights into Brazil's IGU Airport and Argentina's IGR Airport, Municipal Bus 120, and cross-border buses and taxis.
Because the Triple Frontier is one of South America's premier travel hubs, Foz do Iguaçu is served by three commercial airports across three countries, an efficient municipal bus corridor along Rodovia das Cataratas (BR-469), and regular international buses and accredited taxis linking Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay.

1. Foz do Iguaçu / Cataratas International Airport (IATA: IGU, Brazil)
Located on Rodovia das Cataratas (BR-469) just 12 kilometres southeast of downtown Foz do Iguaçu and only 3 kilometres from the entrance to Parque Nacional do Iguaçu and Parque das Aves, Foz do Iguaçu International Airport (IGU) is by far the most convenient gateway.
- Direct flight routes: Multiple daily non-stop flights connect IGU with São Paulo (Guarulhos GRU, Congonhas CGH, and Viracopos VCP, 1 hour 45 minutes), Rio de Janeiro (Galeão GIG, 2 hours 10 minutes), Curitiba (CWB, 1 hour 10 minutes), Campinas, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, and seasonal/international links to Santiago.
- Airport transfers: Official cooperative taxis, Uber, and 99 ride-hailing cars reach Avenida das Cataratas resort hotels in 5 to 10 minutes and downtown Foz do Iguaçu in 20 minutes.

2. Cataratas del Iguazú Airport (IATA: IGR, Argentina) and Guaraní Airport (AGT, Paraguay)
Travellers arriving from Buenos Aires (Aeroparque AEP or Ezeiza EZE), Córdoba, or Salta often fly into Argentina's Cataratas del Iguazú International Airport (IGR), located 20 kilometres south of Puerto Iguazú and 32 kilometres from central Foz do Iguaçu. From IGR, private transfers and airport taxis cross the Tancredo Neves Bridge directly to Brazilian hotels in 40 to 50 minutes (stopping briefly at Argentine and Brazilian border control). Thirty kilometres west across the Paraná River in Minga Guazú, Paraguay's Guaraní International Airport (AGT) links the frontier with Asunción.
3. Municipal Bus Line 120 and Cross-Border Buses
- Municipal Bus Line 120 (Parque Nacional): Departing every 20 to 25 minutes from the central urban bus terminal (TTU) and running down Avenida Jorge Schimmelpfennig and Rodovia das Cataratas (BR-469), air-conditioned Bus 120 stops directly at the hotel strip, IGU Airport, Parque das Aves, and the Visitor Centre of Parque Nacional do Iguaçu.
- International Buses to Puerto Iguazú and Ciudad del Este: Bilingual Rio Uruguay and Crucero del Norte buses run every 30 minutes from downtown Foz do Iguaçu and along Avenida das Cataratas across the Tancredo Neves Bridge to the Puerto Iguazú bus terminal (connecting onward to the Argentine National Park), while regular urban buses cross the Ponte da Amizade to Ciudad del Este.
