U2: The Greatest Show On Earth 2027 World Tour
U2 launches the Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour in early 2027, reuniting Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and drummer Larry Mullen Jr. for nine stadium shows in Mexico City, São Paulo, and Buenos Aires, with Beck announced as special guest.
Overview
U2 has unveiled the Carnaval De Luz Presents: The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour for 2027, marking the Irish quartet's return to full-scale open-air stadium touring alongside the release of their single The Greatest Show On Earth (co-written with longtime collaborator Brian Eno) and sixteenth studio album Carnaval De Luz. Most significantly for longtime followers, the 2027 dates reunite Bono, The Edge, and Adam Clayton on stage with founding drummer Larry Mullen Jr., who returns behind the kit after recovering from surgery that kept him out of the band's Las Vegas Sphere run, bringing the original four-piece lineup back to international stadium stages for the first time in years.
Dates and stadiums
- Mexico City, Estadio GNP Seguros: 23, 26 and 28 February, 2 March 2027
- São Paulo, Estádio MorumBIS: 10, 12 and 14 March 2027
- Buenos Aires, Estadio River Plate: 23 and 25 March 2027
The tour opens in Mexico City on 23 February 2027. Third nights were added in Mexico City and São Paulo, and a fourth in Mexico City, after strong demand. Most dates are already in high demand, so check the official U2 tour page for current ticket availability before you plan travel.
Opening 2027 Stadium Dates with Special Guest Beck
The initial tour rollout begins across Latin America in February and March 2027 with nine stadium shows in three cities. American multi-instrumentalist Beck was announced as special guest for the six originally announced Latin American dates; the announcements of the added nights did not name a support act. North American and European dates are due to be announced later. As of late October 2026, the official U2 tour page lists only these nine Latin American dates, so watch it for further announcements.
- Mexico City, Estadio GNP Seguros (23, 26 and 28 February and 2 March 2027): The world tour opens with four nights inside Mexico City's modernised 65,000-capacity stadium at the Ciudad Deportiva Magdalena Mixhuca complex, with Metro Line 9 serving Ciudad Deportiva and Puebla stations right outside the gates.
- São Paulo, Estádio MorumBIS (10, 12 and 14 March 2027): U2 brings three nights to Estádio MorumBIS in southwestern São Paulo, continuing the band's multi-decade history of landmark multi-night stadium runs at Morumbi.
- Buenos Aires, Estadio River Plate (23 and 25 March 2027): The Latin American stadium leg concludes with two nights (23 and 25 March 2027) at Estadio Más Monumental in the riverside Núñez district of Buenos Aires, Argentina's largest football and concert bowl.
Planning Around the Mexico City and São Paulo Stadium Shows
With four opening nights in Mexico City between Tuesday 23 February and Tuesday 2 March 2027, visiting fans have generous daytime windows to pair the Estadio GNP Seguros concerts with the historic centre, Coyoacán, and the museum corridor in Chapultepec Park using our Mexico City travel guide. In Brazil, holding the dates on Wednesday 10, Friday 12 and Sunday 14 March 2027 leaves a free day between shows to explore South America's largest metropolis; fans can follow our three-day São Paulo itinerary to pair Avenida Paulista art museums, Ibirapuera Park's modernist pavilions, and Vila Madalena dining with the three stadium nights at MorumBIS.
Tickets & Getting There
Ticket sales for the 2027 world tour open first to U2.com subscribers through staggered fan club presale windows, followed by local bank card presales and general public box office releases in Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina. Because the nine Latin American dates mark Larry Mullen Jr.'s return to stadium stages, check the official U2 tour portal early for verified ticketing links and floor category rules.
Reaching Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City and Estádio MorumBIS in São Paulo
Both Estadio GNP Seguros in eastern Mexico City and Estádio MorumBIS in southwestern São Paulo sit along dedicated metro lines that bypass heavy evening concert traffic:
- Mexico City (Metro Line 9 to Ciudad Deportiva or Puebla): Estadio GNP Seguros sits inside the Magdalena Mixhuca sports complex, directly served by Metro Line 9 (Brown) at Ciudad Deportiva and Puebla stations right outside the pedestrian bridges. Review our Mexico City airport and Metro transport guide and Mexico City neighbourhood accommodation guide to base yourself in Roma Norte, Condesa, Reforma, or the Centro Histórico with easy rail connections.
- São Paulo (Metro Line 4-Yellow to São Paulo-Morumbi): The most reliable way to reach Estádio MorumBIS is via Line 4-Yellow to São Paulo-Morumbi Station, followed by a fifteen-minute signposted walk along Avenida Jorge João Saad. Check our São Paulo airport and Metro transport overview and São Paulo neighbourhood accommodation breakdown before booking.
Tips
- Check the Support Act for Your Night: Beck was announced for the six originally announced dates (23 and 26 February, 10 and 12 March, 23 and 25 March); for the added nights, check the official U2 tour page before you decide when to arrive.
- Use Rail Over Rideshare After the Finale: When more than sixty thousand fans exit Estadio GNP Seguros, Estádio MorumBIS, or River Plate simultaneously, surrounding avenues lock up; walking back to the nearest metro or commuter train station is consistently faster than waiting for a car.
- Prepare for Mild High-Altitude Nights in Mexico City and Late-Summer Evenings in South America: Late February evenings in Mexico City cool down quickly at 2,240 metres of elevation, while March in São Paulo and Buenos Aires brings warm late-summer afternoons and occasional showers inside open-roof stadiums, so pack a light layer or foldable poncho.
- Carry Only Essential Cards and ID: Latin American stadium security gates enforce strict restrictions on rigid bottles, large bags, and umbrella poles; use a zipped front pocket or compact waist pack when entering the busy stadium floor or lower seating tiers.
